The origin of “The Best Little Floor House” started in 1955 when “Dad” Frank White Jr. decided that the job he was working on was not enough to support the 4 boys he and his wife already had and the twins, which were expected. Frank Jr. began performing Home Maintenance Services in the Mercer, Burlington and Bucks County Areas. Floor waxing was the primary service performed along with rug and window cleaning. Soon after going into business the need arose to refinish a floor. There were not many Floor Refinishing services in the Tri County area. Frank Jr. saw an opportunity and he took advantage of it.

In the 1960’s and 1970’s a number of Construction companies contracted with Frank Jr. to be their Wood Flooring Contractor/Finisher. Some of the companies serviced included Hunt and Augustine, developers of Bedens Brook, Castle Howard Court and various neighborhoods and custom homes in Princeton, Skillman and the surrounding area, Sandean Construction, the developers of Queenston Commons, Hopewell Valley Builders, Ballisteri and Pearson the builders of custom homes in Elm Ridge Park and other neighborhoods throughout the area. Many other developments have wood floors installed or finished by Frank Jr. in the surrounding areas. Pine Knoll Drive in Lawrenceville, Suffin Pines in Yardley, Stuart Road, and Hunt Drive in Princeton. The Al Tocco built houses on Elm Ridge Road in Hopewell Township. There are many others.

In the mid 1960’s the business was named “Whiteson’s Cleaning Service”. The name Whiteson’s is the combination of the last name White and sons (5 sons were in the family at the time). Frank Jr. and wife eventually had 9 children, which they raised and supported through the business.

In 1974 present owner Frank III graduated from Ewing High School, attended college, and graduated in 1978 with a BS degree in Business Administration. Frank III has worked with dad Frank Jr. since the age of 13. Working summers, weekends, and anytime possible. Frank III’s life long dream was to manage the family business and take it to a new level. In 1982 Frank III assumed the responsibility of managing the family business. In 1989 an additional company was formed to serve as a sub contractor to the newly formed “Whiteson’s Services Inc.” The new company was named “Frank White Floors”. The slogan for Frank White Floors was “The Best Little Floor House in Jersey”. In 1993 the decision was made to trade under the name of “Frank White Floors”.

In 1999, Frank III realized the need to develop a state of the art showroom which would display wood and laminate floors exclusively. Our present location was found and designed to make available to homeowners, contractors, designers and do it yourselfers a one stop location to shop the largest and most complete selection of flooring that range from $1.99 Laminate to custom designed inlays and exotic floor species.

We consistently attended workshops and training seminars. We are members of “NWFA” National Wood Flooring Association.” We offer Sales, Installation, Sanding and Refinishing, Designing and Consulting Services. Do It Yourself Training is also available.
